Canopy Blue: Kelp Restoration

This registry represents 10,000 kelp plants committed by Canopy Blue to be available for sale via the Everclime platform. This registry acts as a digital record on the blockchain between the project and customer. Canopy Blue has partnered with The University of Western Australia on a project that aims to restore the 97,438 hectares of kelp forest lost during the 2011 marine heatwave, which caused 310,949 tonnes of carbon to be released into the atmosphere. Each kelp unit in this registry represents one kelp plant grown at the Indian Ocean Marine Research Centre in Western Australia and planted at a restoration site.
